GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS: Only seniors completing all academic, attendance, community service and behavior standards will be allowed to participate in graduation and related activities.
TUITION and FEES: All tuition contracts and fees must be paid by May 1, 2017 (the FACTS Tuition Program payment plan is an exception). All athletic participation fees must be paid and athletic uniforms must be returned by May 1, 2017
. Seniors with outstanding balances will not be allowed to take exams.
TEXT BOOK AND CHROMEBOOK RETURN: Seniors must turn in all AP text books to their teacher. If a book is lost/missing, a replacement fee of $50.00 must be paid prior to graduation. If you have any questions about the books your student needs to return, please contact that teacher. Chromebooks and chargers MUST be returned during senior exam week. Chromebooks must be in good working condition. Only reasonable wear and tear will be accepted. Students will be charged for all Chromebooks that are damaged. If a charger is damaged or missing, a replacement fee of $25.00 will be charged. A broken screen will cost $50.00. Students will have the option to purchase their Chromebooks for $75.00. This can be paid during Chromebook turn in. If you have any questions about Chromebooks, please contact Mr. Terry or Ms. Keany.
SENIOR EXAMS: Senior exams will be May 9-12. Exams will be given during the regular scheduled class period: 8th and 7th period on May 9, 6th and 5th on May 10, 4th and 3rd on May 11, and 2nd and 1st on May 12. Students will only attend school for periods that an exam is given. Exams are weighted as one-fifth of the semester average. Please keep in mind that all college acceptances and scholarships are based on the successful completion of each student’s high school program of study. MCC Spirit attire will be allowed during school exams.
AP EXAMS: AP Exams will be from May 1-12. Students must attend AP classes through the AP exam, and all other classes through May 12
th. Students will receive an absence for every class missed. MCC Spirit attire will be allowed during AP exams.
It is expected that all seniors will participate in Senior Awards Night, Baccalaureate, and Graduation. The class of 2017 entered as a class and should leave as the class of 2017.
SENIOR AWARDS NIGHT: All seniors will be recognized at the Awards Night on Thursday,
May 18, 2017 at 6:00 p.m. in the MCC Gymnasium. See below for appropriate attire.
BACCALAUREATE PRACTICE: Baccalaureate practice will be held at Ascension Catholic Church on Friday, May 19, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:15 a.m.
BACCALAUREATE MASS: Baccalaureate Mass will take place at Ascension Catholic Church, 2650 N. Harbor City Blvd. Melbourne, FL 32935 on Friday, May 19, 2017, at 6:30 p.m. All graduates will assemble at the entrance of the church no later than 5:30 p.m. The procession will begin at 6:20 p.m. The green academic gown is to be worn at Baccalaureate Mass. There will be photo opportunities with Bishop Noonan immediately following Mass.
GRADUATION PRACTICE: Graduation practice will be at 12:30 p.m. in the MCC Gym on Friday, May 19, 2017. All seniors must attend.
GRADUATION: Graduation is Saturday, May 20, 2017, at 10 a.m. at The Maxwell King Center for the Performing Arts at EFSC, Melbourne Campus. Graduates will assemble in the Black Box Theater at 9:00 a.m. The procession will begin at 9:50 a.m. Doors for guests will open at
9:15 a.m. Please keep in mind that each graduate is special. Please be courteous, extended celebration for one student distracts from the next graduate called. Please be considerate to all our graduates and families by displaying actions appropriate to this special event. The green academic gown and mortarboard with tassel will be worn at Graduation.
DRESS REGULATION FOR BACCALAUREATE, THE SENIOR AWARDS CEREMONY and GRADUATION: All events are formal ceremonies that require proper dress and decorum.
BOYS: Long-sleeve dress shirt, tie, dress slacks with belt, dress shoes and solid color socks.
• No docksiders, sneakers/athletic shoes, flip flops or boots
• No facial hair
• No facial piercing including nose piercing and earrings
• Conservative haircut
GIRLS: Appropriate dress, not too tight or clingy, and should be discreet, meaning not transparent or revealing, conservative jewelry and makeup and dress shoes.

• No facial piercing including nose piercing
BOYS and GIRLS: All students will graduate with their natural hair color, appropriately groomed and conservative style. Green academic gown is to be worn at Baccalaureate. Gown and mortarboard with tassel will be worn at Graduation.
SEATING: Seating is first come, first serve for parents.
PHOTOGRAPHS: All graduates want the best photographs and service available. Dean Stewart Photography (www.dsp-photo.com) is pleased to present the best commencement photography available in the state of Florida. A photograph will be taken as each graduate crosses the stage and receives his/her diploma. There is no obligation to purchase this product. Students will receive a free wallet size proof that will be mailed home within four days of the ceremony. Included will be the ordering information needed to purchase prints if desired.
INDEPENDENT PICTURE TAKING: The King Center policy prohibits people from standing in front of the stage. You may take photographs from your seat. Ushers will strictly enforce this policy.
ATTENTION: Official Diplomas and final report cards will be handed out after the graduation ceremony in the King Center. Students may also pick their diploma and report card up in the Student Services Office.
